What is SenseMaps?

Sensemaps, an Erasmus+ project funded by the European Union, is reimagining public transport for those with visual impairments. With the power of technology and innovation, we’re turning stations into spaces that can be felt, not just seen—using tactile maps to guide every step toward safe, confident, and independent journeys.

What is Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is a European Union program that supports education, training, youth, and sport. It offers opportunities for students, teachers, and young people to study, train, gain work experience, or volunteer abroad. The goal of the program is to enhance skills, promote cultural exchange, and strengthen cooperation between educational institutions across Europe and partner countries.

What is Youth Participation KA154?

The Youth Participation KA154 project is part of the Erasmus+ program and helps young people get involved in their communities and democratic life. It offers them chances to learn about their rights, speak up, and take action on issues that matter. The project builds confidence, social skills, and encourages teamwork with others—including decision-makers—to make a real difference.

What Will Participants Do?

Explore 3D technology and design tactile maps for visually impaired individuals
Learn how to merge innovation with social impact in a project with real-world applications
Collaborate with a team of passionate individuals to turn ideas into concrete solutions
Contribute to visible change—these maps will be installed in Ploiesti transport stations by October 2025

Sensemaps is organized by BraveBots, the robotics team redefining performance and community impact, under the Thoth Association for Mathematics and Sciences.
